KANNAPOLIS ó Officials have not determined what caused a Wednesday crash that killed a Landis woman and sent two others to the hospital.
Dorothy White Bost, 58, of 701 W. Rice St., died at the scene. She was driving north on Cannon Boulevard near the Big Lots shopping center shortly after 3 p.m. when her Mazda crossed the median into oncoming traffic and into the path of two other vehicles.
Kannapolis Chief Woody Chavis said Thursday the weather could have been a factor in the collision. It was raining the day of the crash.
“There is no indication that alcohol or drugs are involved. We haven’t talked to her physician to see if any medical condition could’ve contributed,” he said.
What investigators have heard from witnesses is that Bost suddenly veered to the other side of the road.
The other drivers ó Marsha Jean Rho of Concord and Sharon Applebaum of Charlotte ó were taken to Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast with minor injuries. The two women were treated and released.
The investigation continues.
