New Jersey man charged with sex crimes in Rowan

A 60-year-old New Jersey man has been charged with first-degree rape of a child younger than 13.
Billy Rae Stover of 1023 Stuyvesant Ave., Irvington, N.J., is in the Rowan County Detention Center under $400,000 bond.
According to warrants, Stover is charged with four counts of first-degree rape of a child.
The incidents occurred between Aug. 1 and Sept. 30, 2007, according to information on the warrant provided by Rowan Deputy Sheriff C. Mauldin.
Investigators brought Stover from New Jersey Thursday. His first appearance in Rowan County District Court is set for Monday.
