A Salisbury mother was charged with child abuse for allowing her teenage children to drink vodka Wednesday afternoon.
Lisa Honeycutt, 34, of 308 Wingate Lane, also faces charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to an arrest warrant from the Rowan County Magistrate’s Office.
Her 13-year-old daughter and her 16-year-old son, Brian Thomas Gaddy, were drunk when the Rowan Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 domestic call around 4 p.m.
Honeycutt spit on the officer after she was taken in custody and damaged a Rowan County Sheriff’s cruiser in excess of $200, according to the report.
She also assaulted and tore the shirt off of a man and grabbed and punched another woman. Honeycutt was charged with simple assault for both incidents and with damaging the woman’s 2004 Honda Civic.
Honeycutt faces a $5,000 bail and is being held at Rowan County Jail. She is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 5.
Gaddy, of 1244 Bertha St. in Kannapolis, also was arrested for resisting an officer and for underage alcohol consumption. He is being held in lieu of $2,000 bail.
