The Rowan County Mental Health Association, in conjunction with Kean Digital Films, will present “Journal of Recovery,” a documentary that takes a close look at mental illness on Tuesday, Feb. 13.

The documentary will be shown from 7 to 8 p.m. at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church at 1908 Statesville Blvd., followed by a discussion. Produced by Bart Kean and Ted Thomas, two mental health consumers who reside in North Carolina, “Journal of Recovery” was created to make people aware that they can recover from a mental illness.

Various and individualized paths have led numerous people to recovery and the hope of Kean and Thomas is that the film will be used as a learning and teaching tool to inspire consumers to take the “Journey of Recovery.”
