County commissioners continued their search for a county manager during a special session Thursday.
The Rowan County Board of Commissioners interviewed a second candidate during a nearly two-hour closed session Thursday afternoon.
The board interviewed the first candidate during a meeting last week.
Commissioners are conducting the search process with the full board doing interviews.Additional interviews are likely to be scheduled.
The county has received nearly three dozen applications for the position, which became vacant when Bill Cowan resigned Dec. 31 to take a job heading up a resort development company in Pinehurst.
