Man charged with breaking into buildings

Authorities charged a 22-year-old Salisbury man with breaking into buildings Tuesday on Glover Road and South Main Street in Granite Quarry.
Chad Steven Brown of 3909 Old Concord Road later tried to sell some of the items taken in one of the break-ins at China Grove Gun and Pawn, according to reports.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office charged Brown with two counts of breaking, entering and larceny, cocaine and drug paraphernalia possession and obtaining property by false pretense.
He was placed under $25,000 bond, and his first appearance in District Court was today.
Brown is accused of breaking into a building at 2075 Glover Road and taking a generator, circular saw, cooler, 6-foot ladder, two hammers and a crowbar. The items had a total value of about $2,500.
He also is charged with breaking into 1206 S. Main St., Granite Quarry, and taking a stereo system and two speakers with a total value of $1,000.
Brown attempted to sell the generator and circular saw to China Grove Gun and Pawn Wednesday.
Sheriff’s deputies also arrested Tiffany Lynn Smith, 19, of the same Old Concord Road address, with cocaine and drug paraphernalia possession. She was placed under $10,000 bond.
