MOUNT ULLA ó A Joe Rankin Road man faces an attempted murder charge in connection with a November shooting.
William David Briggs, of Mooresville, was shot Nov. 28 while at the home of Patrick Sinclair Sherrill, 27, of 520 Joe Rankin Road.
When authorities arrived, the victim ran from officers.
“It appears to be drug related,” said Capt. John Sifford of the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.
Hospital officials say Briggs has been discharged after recovering from serious injuries.
Sherrill was charged Thursday with attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill, inflicting serious injury.
Sherrill remains in the Rowan County Detention Center under $350,000 secured bond.
