An East Spencer man bled to death after cutting his arm trying to break into his ex-girlfriend’s home Friday night, police said.
Carlos Hicks, 30, got into an argument with his ex-girlfriend at her home on Lafayette Street, said Sgt. John Lanier, of the Salisbury Police Department.
“He went outside and the ex-girlfriend locked the door to keep him from coming back in,” Lanier said.
Hicks tried to break in through the back door shortly before 9 p.m., busting the glass with his elbow and cutting his arm, Lanier said.
“He apparently passed out due to loss of blood,” he said.
Rowan County EMS responded and took Hicks to Carolinas Medical Center in critical condition, where he died.
