A 23-year-old Georgia man has been jailed on multiple charges after tossing a couple of beers out of his car at a traffic stop in Landis.
Damian Cortes Aguilar of 5100 Stick Court, Buford, Ga., is charged with driving while impaired, littering, speeding, driving with a revoked license, possession of an open container of alcohol and reckless driving.
According to information on on warrants, his alcohol level was .20 at 3:30 p.m. Friday.
Landis Police Officer Roger Hosey reported that Aguilar was driving 57 mph in a 35 mph zone on West Rice Street at 2:45 p.m.
Aguilar is being held in the Rowan County Detention Center under $5,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Rowan County District Court on March 14.
