Land use committee meeting tonight
The Rowan County Land Use Steering Committee will resume work tonight on a draft plan.
The committee met for two hours Thursday night but ran out of time before all 10 members were able to give their opinions and recommendations.
The plan will focus on the west side of the county, everything west of Interstate 85 that is not in municipal boundaries.
The committee is made up of a representative from each of the nine townships in the study area and a member of the county planning board.
Committee members scheduled to comment on the draft plan at the Monday evening session include Steve Poteat, Chris Cohen, Paula Holte, Jimbo Shaver, Wendy Wilson and Eric Pence.
The meeting is open to the public and will start at 6:30 p.m. in the Cohen Administration Building, 130 W. Innes St.
