Kannapolis police release picture of BP robber's hat

Kannapolis police investigators have released the picture of an unusual hat worn by the man who robbed a convenience store Monday night.
Police officials are asking the public’s help in identifying the suspect.
“The … photo does not show the suspect’s face but shows a unique style hat the suspect was wearing,” according to the Kannapolis Police Department release.
The robbery occurred about 9 p.m. Monday when a black man entered the BP Convenience Store at 2170 Dale Earnhardt Blvd. He “displayed a handgun and demanded money from the clerk,” according to a Police Department release.
Previously, police officials said the man got away with an undisclosed amount of money. He was last seen running south toward Indiana Street.
Besides the hat, officials say the suspect is about 6 feet tall and weighs about 185 pounds.
Anyone with information about this or any other crime is encouraged to contact Cabarrus Area Crime Stoppers at 704-93-CRIME (932-7463).
You never have to reveal your identity, and officials will keep your call confidential. A caller providing information leading to an arrest could become eligible for a reward up to $1,000.
