Kannapolis man charged with robbing woman

Authorities charged a Kannapolis man Friday with robbing a woman of $2,664 at knifepoint Dec. 28.
Ryan Yohance Russell, 33, of 307 Airport Road, Kannapolis, is charged with robbery with a deadly weapon. He was placed in the Rowan County jail under $50,000 bond.
According to an arrest warrant, police say Russell took the money from Cynthia Laforce by threatening her life and that the money belonged to Walgreens.
Russell’s first court appearance was set for Tuesday.
