Kannapolis man charged with having sex with 9-year-old girl

A Kannapolis man is being held in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $200,000 bond facing numerous charges involving having sex with a 9-year-old girl.
John Richard Brigman, 62, of 503 Dodge St., is charged with two counts of a first-degree sex offense and one count of taking indecent liberties with a child.
According to police records, the charges came after the child told her mother of the assaults.
