KANNAPOLIS ó An man with a gun robbed the BP gasoline station on Dale Earnhardt Boulevard Monday night.
Police Detective Sgt. Chris Nesbitt said no one had been arrested in the robbery as of Tuesday afternoon.
The clerk described the suspect as a black man, about 6 feet tall and 185 pounds, with a muscular build. The man might have had some facial hair and was wearing a black shirt and dark blue pants, possibly jeans, Nesbitt said.
The man entered the BP station at 2170 Dale Earnhardt Blvd. at 9:03 p.m., pointed a firearm at the clerk and demanded money.
Nesbitt said he did not want to be more specific about the type of firearm the suspect used.
The clerk gave the man money, and he left on foot, Nesbitt said.
The clerk was not injured, Nesbitt said. The Post is not identifying the clerk because the suspect remains at large.
Anyone with information about the robbery should call the Kannapolis Police Department at 704-920-4000 or Cabarrus Area Crime Stoppers at 704-93-CRIME (932-7463).
