An inmate at Piedmont Correctional Institution, the high-rise prison at 1245 Camp Road, was charged with hitting a guard in an incident that occurred March 28.
Troy Dion Reese, 40, was charged with assaulting a government employee, after hitting Robert Joyal, a guard at the prison.
Reese allegedly hit Joyal in the face with his fist, according to reports from the Rowan Magistrate’s Office.
