hinnant on biotech committee

KANNAPOLIS ó Councilman Darrell Hinnant, owner and Chief Scientific and Technology Officer of dHinnant Business Solutions Inc., has been appointed to the 27-member Advisory Committee for Biotechnology in the Charlotte Region, which was developed by the N.C. Biotechnology Center and is chaired by former Governor Jim Martin, a city press release said.
The committee’s focus on long- and short-term biotechnology resources and science, economic gain, and job creation corresponds to Hinnant’s professional and civic experience, the press release said. As a Kannapolis City Councilman, he is involved with the development of the N.C. Research Campus. His scientific training includes degrees in chemistry. He spent 15 years in the chemical industry and three years as executive director of the N.C. Hazardous Waste Commission.
Hinnant also has experience with environmental remediation, global markets and has served as chief operating officer for companies such as Radiator Specialty and Asia Apparel both of Charlotte. Through his company, Hinnant is a technology and business management consultant who helps companies grow within their markets and capitalize on new market opportunities.
