Help the families
The city of Salisbury and the Salisbury Fire Department are establishing a fund to aid the families of Justin Monroe and Victor Isler, the firefighters who died Friday in the line of duty.
The Bank of North Carolina, with branches in Salisbury and Harrisburg, will serve as a repository for the tax-deductible donations. A link to the Bank of North Carolina Web site will be available this week through the city of Salisbury’s Web site at www.salisburync.gov.
Salisbury’s Chick-fil-A restaurant on East Innes Street also has put out jugs to raise money to help the families.
The jugs first went out Saturday and, by the end of the day, people had contributed close to $500.
The restaurant will continue the fund-raising effort all week.
