The N.C. Department of Transportation will hold a public hearing from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 5, a Monday, on the proposed underpass for Klumac Road.
The design public hearing will be held at Salisbury City Hall, 217 S. Main St.
The DOT proposal calls for Klumac Road to be realigned so that it connects with Mooresville Highway (N.C. 150). The new portion of Klumac Road will go under the north-south railroad tracks.
Vehicles traveling on Klumac Road now must cross two sets of tracks.
Maps showing the proposed design of the project and a copy of the approved environmental assessment are available for public review at the city of Salisbury’s Engineering Division, 110 N. Main St., and at the DOT’s district office at 4770 S. Main St.
The Feb. 5 hearing will be informal, and citizens are being invited to attend between 5 and 7 p.m. at their convenience. DOT representatives will be available to answer questions and receive comments.
There will be no formal presentation.
