East Carolina grad
Rachel Cheek of Salisbury graduated cum laude from East Carolina University May 10 with a bachelor of science degree in clinical laboratory science.
Cheek, a chancellor’s and dean’s list student, received the university’s Susan T. Smith Professionalism Award.
She is a 2004 graduate of First Assembly Christian School in Concord.
She will begin her professional career at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in June.
