The Salisbury Civitan Club is searching for the county’s outstanding Good Samaritan, who will be honored and recognized with the annual Good Samaritan Award.
The story of the Good Samaritan is the well-known parable from the New Testament in the Gospel of Luke (10:25-37). In it, Jesus is asked, “Who is my neighbor?” and uses the story of the Good Samaritan to illustrate all are neighbors.
The club’s members are looking for someone with a loving spirit and a generous heart who sacrifices time, talent or treasure to serve others joyfully and without hesitation; who demonstrates the attributes of a Good Samaritan in kindness, compassion and service to others.
Nominations should describe the person and his or her deeds in no more than 500 words, but nominators are asked not to use the individual’s name. Instead, attach a cover sheet to the nomination which includes the nominee’s name, nominator’s name, address and telephone number. The person nominated must not be told.
Nominations may be given to any of the Civitan Club of Salisbury’s 130 members, or mailed to Civitan Club of Salisbury, c/o R. Queen, 101 Polo Drive, Salisbury NC 28144 or e-mailed to Rodneque @aol.com Call 704 202 0319 for information.
Winners will be honored at a Civitan luncheon at the Salisbury Country Club April 3.
