Former E. Spencer alderman charged

A former East Spencer alderman and candidate for mayor has been charged with injury to personal property and two counts of interfering with emergency communications.
Titus Hezekiah King, 41, of 108 Railroad Ave., was released after posting a $1,000 bond. He was arrested Saturday.
According to a warrant at the Rowan County Magistrate’s Office, King damaged two cell phones belonging to Jacqueline King. The phones were valued at more than $200.
The warrant stated that King grabbed the phones and broke them while they were being used to call 911.
King has served as an alderman in East Spencer and has also made two unsuccessful bids for mayor.
A court date for the case is Feb. 26.
