A former employee of the Cabarrus County school system faces two sex offense charges following an investigation by the Concord Police Department
James Kenneth Black, 23, of 5740 Village Drive, Concord, has been charged with two counts of sexual activity by a teacher and two counts of taking indecent liberties with a student by a teacher.
Investigators say Black, who was listed as an exceptional children’s teacher assistant, had been engaging in inappropriate sexual contact with a student, but not one of the exceptional children students. Black is not a current school employee, but was at the time of the inappropriate activity.
Concord Police officials say the Cabarrus County school system has cooperated with the investigation.
Concord Police Chief Mel Hamilton will have a press conference at the police headquarters building at 11:30 a.m.
