Authorities were investigating a Brison Road fire Friday night that apparently left one man dead.
A woman was injured at the scene and transported to Rowan Regional Medical Center with singed hair but no serious burns, according to reports monitored over emergency scanner traffic.
Efforts to get closer to the fire scene were in vain as firefighters and rescue personnel blocked access to the dirt road leading from Needmore Road.
Attempts to get more information weren’t successful before press time Friday night.
