Faithful Friends attend workshop
Ric Hodge, Dana Samuelson and Anne Ingram recently represented Faithful Friends Animal Sanctuary at a one-day workshop presented by Petfinder.com, the on-line database of homeless pets.
Petco sponsored the workshop and the Asheville Humane Society served as host.
Petfinder.com is the largest database of homeless pets on the Web, with more than 240,000 animals listed.
Petfinder.com has facilitated more than 12 million adoptions since it launched. Each member shelter or rescue group has its own home page on the site and each pet listed has its own page with a description and picture. Visitors enter their search criteria for the kind of pet they want to adopt and receive a list of pets matching those criteria, ranked in proximity to the visitor’s zip code.
Thanks to its sponsors, Petfinder.com is free to visitors and to its animal placement organization members. Sponsors include Bissell Homecare, a manufacturer of home cleaning and floor care products; Petco, a national pet supply retailer that sponsors in-store adoptions; the Animal Rescue Site; and Merial, maker of flea and tick preventative.
