Novant Health officials announced this afternoon that Chuck Elliott had been relieved of his duties as chief executive officer of Rowan Regional Medical Center effective immediately.
Elliott will be replaced by Jeff Lindsay, president of Presbyterian Hospital Huntersville, also a Novant facility, who will oversee both hospitals, according to Kati Everett, vice president of public relations and marketing for Novant Health.
The decision to remove Elliott as chief executive officer was recommended by Novant officials and approved by the Rowan Regional Medical Center Board of Directors prior to today, Everett said.
Rowan Regional’s leadership team was notified of the news in an 11:30 a.m. meeting, after which they began to informally notify staff. All Rowan Regional employees were notified in a 3 p.m. memo.
Lindsay was at the medical center Tuesday talking with staff and will be holding employee forums beginning Wednesday to address any concerns.
