Pfeiffer University administrators have named Jean Popejoy, former assistant registrar, to fill the position of university registrar. Popejoy replaces Larry Durrett, who retired from Pfeiffer in May following 40 years of service.
Popejoy, who came to Pfeiffer in 2006, is responsible for compiling and maintaining official academic records of all students who attend or have attended Pfeiffer. As registrar, she develops and publishes the schedule for each term, manages the registration process, ensures grades are recorded accurately and in a timely manner and informs students of their academic progress.
Additionally, Popejoy evaluates and approves all credits not earned at Pfeiffer, compiles academic eligibility for all college-wide organizations and issues all official transcripts of student records. Associate registrar Rick Kivior and Steve Mowery, assistant to the registrar, make up Popejoy’s team. She reports directly to Dr. Tracy Espy, Pfeiffer’s provost and vice president for academic affairs.
Prior to accepting the position as assistant registrar at Pfeiffer, Popejoy worked as research analyst at Palm Beach Atlantic University, where she also served as data central administrator for approximately five years. She has held similar positions at Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach, Fla., Intracoastal Health Systems in West Palm Beach and Focus Financial Services in Delray Beach, Fla.
She is a graduate of Palm Beach Atlantic University.
