Education: Masonic Scholarship Committee awards scholarships

The Rowan County Masonic Scholarship Committee has awarded $500 scholarships to five local high school seniors.
They are Faith Howell, North Rowan High School; Brittany Iddings and Thomas Mabry II, South Rowan High School; and Christopher Martin and Tiffany Anderson, West Rowan High School.
Howell, daughter of Elizabeth Howell, plans to attend either Salem College in Winston-Salem or N.C. State University in Raleigh and pursue a degree in chemistry with an interest in pre- medicine.
Daughter of Ken and Yvonne Iddings, Iddings plans to attend Appalachia State University in Boone and major in English secondary education.
Mabry, son of Kent and Dinah Brafford, plans to attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is interested in pre-medicine and studying anesthesiology.
Martin is the son of Cecilia Martin and Jerome Cowan. He plans to attend N.C. A&T State University in Greensboro and then study veterinary medicine.
Anderson, daughter of Edward Anderson and Jacqueline Bostic, plans to study psychology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
The Rowan County Masonic Scholarship is sponsored by the six Masonic Lodges in Rowan County: Fulton 99, Salisbury; Scotch-Ireland 154, Cleveland; Eureka 283, China Grove; Spencer 543, Spencer; Andrew Jackson 576, Salisbury; and Keller Memorial 657, Rockwell.
