Information session

The medical assistant program at Cabarrus College of Health Sciences will hold an information session for prospective students from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Jan. 30.

Medical assistants perform clinical and administrative functions to keep healthcare delivery settings running smoothly. Duties include updating and filing medical records, arranging hospital admission and lab services, handling bills and booking and performing EKGs.

The medical assistant field is rated as one of the fastest growing in the United States over the next 10 years by the U.S. Department of Labor. Also, Cabarrus College medical assistant graduates have had a 100 percent pass rate on the certification exam since 2003.

Henderson PTA

The Henderson Independent High School PTA will hold parent/teacher conferences at 7 p.m. Feb. 1.

Parents can pick up their student’s report cards for the first term and meet the school staff. They may also join the PTA. Cost is $7 per student.

SHS report cards

Salisbury High School will distribute report cards from 3-5:30 p.m. Wednesday outside the school auditorium.

Cards not picked up by parents will be given to students Thursday.
