Welding competition
Rowan-Cabarrus Community College will host the seventh annual American Welding Society Intercollegiate Competition for the Carolinas and Virginia region on April 18.
Community colleges are sending their best student welders to RCCC’s Salisbury campus to compete and display their skill. The competition begins at 12:30 p.m., and students will have approximately three hours to read blueprints and complete their assigned welding tasks. Judging will begin at 4:30 p.m. Prizes will be awarded in multiple categories. The public is invited to come and observe.
Schools registered to compete include Cape Fear, Central Piedmont, Craven, Isothermal, Johnston, Nash, New River, Pitt and RCCC.
