Better Building Products LLC and W.A. Brown and Son Inc. were hosts Monday for U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Dole, R-N.C.
Paul Brown and Neal Wilkinson took Dole, Dole’s State Director Margaret Kluttz and Chief of Staff Brian Nick on a tour of the W.A. Brown & Son facilities on Long Meadow Drive in Salisbury.
Dole met and spoke with employees during the tour, notably with Fred Gibson, an employee of Brown for 55 years. Gibson told Dole he installed coolers in her father’s florist business many years ago.
During her tour, Dole was shown the SIPTEX Building System and how using the XT Panels made many applications possible, from mobile coolers to cabins, from small storage buildings to large homes.
W.A. Brown & Son has been in business for 99 years in Rowan County.
“Our employees are our best asset,” Paul Brown said, “and they are critical to the growth of our business in a highly competitive market.”
A Brown press release says the company has been an innovative force in the walk-in cooler industry during its history, and the SIPTEX Building System is a natural evolution into today’s “green” building industry.
