Dole gives to local Red Cross
U.S. Sen. Elizabeth H. Dole has made a gift of $50,000 to the Rowan County American Red Cross Chapter in memory of her mother, Mary C. Hanford.
Mary Hanford was a key supporter of the Rowan Chapter until her death in 2004.
Dole, for whom the chapter is named, served as the president and CEO of the National American Red Cross from 1991 until 1999.
