Davie High bomb threat
MOCKSVILLE ó Students and staff at Davie High School were evacuated Thursday after a 12:25 p.m. bomb threat.
A spokeswoman for the Davie County Schools said proper procedures were followed to safely evacuate the buildings. Officers with the Davie County Sheriff’s Department and Mocksville Police Department searched the facility along with Davie County EMS staff and found no bombs, she said in a news release.
Students and staff ó who had received prior guidance on the protocol for emergency situations ó reacted calmly and evacuated in an orderly manner, the spokeswoman said. Upon recommendation of law enforcement, they returned to class.
Principal Cary Powers sent a recorded telephone message to parents informing them of what had happened.
