CONCORD ó Concord Police found the body of a missing man and charged an acquaintance of his with murder Friday.
Mark Richard Malund, 26, of 332 Hamilton Drive, is charged with murdering Michael Glen Roseboro, 46, of 610 Norman Point, police said Friday.
Concord Police Capt. Gary Hatley said Roseboro’s brother reported him missing Tuesday morning. Roseboro had failed to report for work Monday and didn’t return home Monday night.
A press release said officers discovered Roseboro’s body Friday afternoon under Malund’s house on Hamilton Drive.
“Investigators received information that the victim had been killed there after an argument with the suspect acquaintance over a domestic issue,” the press release said, though it doesn’t specify the nature of their relationship or details on the argument.
“The investigation is still ongoing,” police said.
Officers arrested Malund Friday afternoon, and he was being held in the Cabarrus County Jail.
According to the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office Web site, Malund was charged with communicating threats in December 2003. Details and outcome of that charge were not available Friday evening.
Deputy Chief Guy Smith said Friday night that the victim lived within walking distance of the suspect’s house and authorities are awaiting autopsy results to detail the cause of death since the body had been under the house for at least a couple of days. Smith said police were still processing the crime scene Friday night and talking to other people who may have information about the case.
