CONCORD ń A 48-year-old Tennessee man shot by a Concord police officer after a chase on Interstate 85 Friday night faces a number of charges when he is discharged from the hospital.
Concord police officials would not provide information about the chase and shooting Friday night.
On Tuesday, police identified the man as Clyde Freddie Muntz Jr., of 322 Forestal Drive, Knoxville, Tenn.
Once he is discharged from the hospital, Muntz will be charged with felony speeding to elude, felony possession of a stolen vehicle, driving while impaired and driving with no operator’s license.
The State Bureau of Investigation continues to investigate the incident.
The officer involved in the shooting of the suspect is Concord Police Officer Chris Carpenter. Carpenter is on administrative leave pending the conclusion of the investigation.
Concord Police officials did not provide any more information about the chase or the shooting Tuesday.
