Cleveland man charged with attempted murder

A Cleveland man is being held under a $100,000 bond in the Rowan County Detention Center, charged with attempted first-degree murder.
Lucas Henderson McKee, 19, of 103 Church St., was charged Thursday by officers with the Salisbury Police Department. According to an arrest warrant filed at the Rowan County Magistrate’s Office, the attack happened Monday.
The warrant states that McKee attempted to strangle Meredith Lynn Gruber of 116 Lilly Ave.
McKee faces additional charges of breaking and/or entering, assault by strangulation, maintaining a vehicle for the sale or distribution of controlled substances and sale and delivery of marijuana.
