City seeks Historic Preservation OK for fiber-optic utility control cabinets
The city of Salisbury is looking for the Historic Preservation Commission to give it blanket approval for the installation of control cabinets associated with the fiber-optic utility that will be under construction this year.
The commission meets at 5:15 p.m. Thursday at City Hall, 217 S. Main St.
The commission’s approval is needed for locations where the cabinets will be installed within the city’s five local historic districts.
Most of the cabinets will be placed on existing utility poles. Others will have to be placed on the ground within street rights of way or on private property easements.
At Thursday’s meeting, the commission will see an example of the cabinets.
