City Council to hear about Parks and Recreation TV series

Salisbury City Council will hear a presentation Tuesday about a new Parks and Recreation television series.
The “Did You Know” series will be airing on Time Warner Cable’s Access Channel 16.
Council meets at 4 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall, 217 S. Main St.
In other agenda items Tuesday, council will:
* Receive highlights and goal presentations from the Community Appearance Commission, Historic Preservation Commission and Parks and Recreation Department.
* Consider awarding a $298,630 contract to R.F. Shinn Inc. for installation of sewer lines in areas annexed in 2005.
* Consider awarding a $28,600 contract to Martin Starnes & Associates for auditing services in 2007.
* Consider closing the 100 block of East Liberty Street from 4 to 11 p.m. Jan. 27 for the Waterworks Visual Arts Center’s oyster roast.
* Consider a request from the Andrew Jackson Masonic Lodge to reverse the flow of traffic and restrict parking on Water Street Feb. 22 for the lodge’s annual Brunswick stew sale.
* Consider a revision to a site plan for Drummond Village, which is being developed in the 2800 block of Stokes Ferry Road.
* Proclaim Jan. 15 as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day and January as National Mentoring Month.
* Hold a closed session to discuss a personnel matter.
