COOLEEMEE ó The members of Erwin Temple Christian Methodist Episcopal Church will observe the second pastoral anniversary of the Rev. Ervin L. Hannah Jr. Sunday.
The morning message will be given by Hannah, and the Erwin Temple Spiritual Choir will sing with Keith Holland as Minister of Music.
Holy Communion will be served during the worship.
Lunch will be served in the fellowship hall at 2 p.m.
Afternoon worship for Pastor Appreciation Celebration will begin at 3 p.m. Special guests will be the Rev. Arthur Heggins, pastor of St. Luke Baptist Church of Salisbury, who will give the afternoon message. He will be accompanied by the St. Luke congregation. Music will be provided by their Gospel Choir.
The Erwin Temple Praise Dancers will do a special performance titled “Order My Steps in Your Word Dear Lord.”
Macedonia Baptist
There will be a fellowship service at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church Sunday at 6 p.m.
The residing minister will be the Rev. Pamela Jackson. Dr. W.T. Jackson is the church’s pastor.
Macedonia is located at 2865 Enon Church Road.
Henderson Grove VBS
The annual Vacation Bible School at Henderson Grove Missionary Baptist Church will be held July 7-11 from 6-8:30 p.m. each evening.
The theme for this year is “God’s Big Back Yard.” All ages are welcome. Refreshments will be served and games will be played each day.
The Rev. Rodney B. Eldridge is the pastor and Esther Mobley is the VBS director.
The church is located on Henderson Grove Church Road between South Main Street and Peach Orchard Road.
New Beginning
KANNAPOLIS ó On July 6 at 4 p.m., New Beginning Church of God, 1124 Thomas Ave., will have a gospel singing concert in honor of Saisha Roseman.
In concert will be the Gospel Traveliers of the Carolinas, Mommy Sissy’s Kids of Mooresville, Brothers and Sisters of Mooresville, Aires of Salvation of Salisbury, New Vision of Kannapolis, The Roseman Sisters of Kannapolis, the New Beginning choir and various local groups.
On July 11-12 at 7 p.m., New Beginning invites all to worship at the Annual Women’s Conference.
On July 11, Evangelist Tina Mack of Fellowship Tabernacle Church in Statesville, will be speaker. On July 12, Evangelist LaJune Gray of Freedom United Church of God in Woodleaf will speak.

Worship Encounter
Pastor David Cowger and the family of World Hope Worship Center invite local Music Ministry Teams from Salisbury and Rowan County to join them for a special morning of training on Saturday, July 19, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the Worship Encounter Weekend.
Area worship leaders, singers, and musicians will learn useful tips for platform ministry, receive written worship music, hear the practical side of flowing with the pastor during the service and enjoy singing worship.
There is a charge of $5 per person for this training session to cover costs of music and materials, payable at the door that morning. Doors open at 8:40 a.m. for fellowship and registration.
David Baroni, worship leader and teacher, will be the special guest for the weekend. Information about Baroni may be found at www.davidbaroni.com.
Also, World Hope will be hosting an Evening of Worship with Baroni on Saturday, July 19. Doors will open at 7 p.m. Child care will be provided for children 5 years and younger.
There is no charge for this service, but a love offering will be taken.
