CONCORD ó Authorities arrested a Charlotte man in Rowan County Saturday after he snatched money from two restaurants around 10:30 a.m., according to a press release from the Concord Police Department.
Kwan Jamel Hamilton, 34, of 1727 Stoney Creek Lane, Charlotte, is charged two counts of common law robbery and speeding to elude arrest.
According to police, Hamilton leaned into the drive-through window at Bojangle’s on George Liles Boulevard and grabbed money as the cashier was opening her register.
He then drove about six miles in his green SUV to the Cracker Barrel off the Dale Earnhardt Boulevard exit at Interstate 85, where he leaned over a counter inside the business and grabbed money from a cash drawer when an employee opened it, the press release said.
Hamilton fled the restaurant and drove north on I-85 until a Cabarrus County Sheriff’s deputy and several N.C. Highway Patrol troopers chased him and used stop sticks to stop him at mile marker 94.
No one was injured in either the robberies or the pursuit, authorities said.
