Franklin Eugene Caldwell II, 18, received his Eagle Scout award June 8 during a Court of Honor.
Scoutmaster James Wilkie presented the award. Troop 373 is sponsored by Sandy Ridge AME Zion Church.
Caldwell, son of Franklin and Morrisa Caldwell, completed all the Eagle Scout requirements before his 18th birthday. He has been the senior patrol leader and quartermaster of the troop, completed the mile swim, and was a certified BSA lifeguard.
His Eagle Scout project was to paint and improve the condition of the church’s handicap ramp at the Fellowship Hall.
A graduate of South Rowan High School, he will attend the University of Southern California.
