KANNAPOLIS ó Hospice & Palliative Care of Cabarrus County will host an Open House on June 8, a Sunday, from 2 to 4 p.m. for those in the community wishing to tour the six-bed expansion of the Bob and Carolyn Tucker Hospice House, 5003 Hospice Lane.
This expansion brings the total number of beds to 12, six residential beds and six general in-patient beds. Hospice inpatient care is helpful for those in need of evaluation and treatment of symptoms that are difficult to control. Extensive medical and nursing care is provided. Once the situation has stabilized the patient may return home or to Hospice residential care, which serves those whose life expectancy is measured in days or weeks, rather than years.
Usually these families have no alternatives to meet their healthcare needs at home. Physician approval is necessary for admission to the inpatient and residential programs.
Hospice & Palliative Care of Cabarrus County provides care for children, teens and adults living with life-limiting conditions enabling them to live as fully and comfortably as possible. Hospice also assists patients’ families as they care for their loved ones, and supports them as they grieve.
Hospice & Palliative Care provides care in the home, nursing home and assisted living facilities, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast and in Tucker Hospice House.
