CONCORD ó Cabarrus County Commissioner Bob Carruth filed for re-election on Monday, according to Board of Elections records.
Carruth, 46, is seeking his third term as a commissioner. A Republican and resident of Concord, he twice served as chairman of the Board of Commissioners before that post was passed to Jay White this year.
Joni Juba, whose seat is also up for re-election in November, announced on Friday that she will not seek a second term.
“The past three years have been difficult, but they also have been rewarding,” Juba said at a press conference held Friday.
