An armed suspect tried to rob a 33-year-old man July 23 at 200 Partee St.

– Cynthia Gwinn was charged July 23 with shoplifting four packs of steaks from Food Lion, 525 W. Jake Alexander Blvd.
– Carol Lee Leazer, 19, 315 American Drive, was charged July 23 with shoplifting eight pairs of women’s underwear at Kmart, 815 E. Innes St., and with carrying a concealed weapon, a folding lock-blade knife. She was held under $500 secured bond pending an Aug. 20 trial date.
– James Mack Evans reported a larceny at 1315 N. Main St. between July 20 and 23.
– William Foster, 1202 Rachel Lane, reported items were stolen from his home while he was away between July 2 and 23.
– Kevin J. Chawlk, 21, 609 Harrell St., was charged July 21 with assault by strangulation. He was held under $1,500 secured bond pending a first appearance in court.
– Davey Schvon Patterson, 1026 Ashwood Place, reported two vehicles parked at his home were entered the night of July 22. A $20 amplifier was taken from one, but nothing was missing from the second.
– Larry Douglas Miller, 1100 Bringle Ferry Road, reported $83 in cash stolen from his vehicle while it was parked at his home the night of July 22.
– Zebulun Burnell Walker, 1833 Morningside Lane, reported the radio was stolen out of his vehicle while it was parked at his home the night of July 22.
– Donna Ferguson Hogue, 1415 Tall Oaks Circle, reported her daughter’s bicycle was stolen July 23.
– Devon Mincey Rivers reported her bicycle was stolen July 23 while she was at work at Cabarrus Pool Supply, 618 E. Innes St.
– Sheila Renee Black reported the tag was stolen off her vehicle while it was parked at 230 N. Craige St. July 21.
– Odalia Benitez Vallejo reported her pocketbook and her husband’s wallet and cell phone were stolen July 20 from 1060 McKinley Lane.
– Sherry Towell of Salisbury reported almost $1,000 taken from her account between April 15 and July 24 by fraud.- Amanda Lorene Burgess reported vandals broke the rear window in her vehicle while it was parked at 203 Pearl St. July 24.
– Alisha Marie Freeman, 1436 Old Wilkesboro Road, reported her pocketbook stolen from her home July 20 or 21.- A 28-year-old woman was robbed by a couple July 25 at 319 Bendix Drive.
