Vandals broke off 20 sprinkler heads at the East Rowan YMCA’s soccer fields, according to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.
David Leonard Freeze of China Grove reported the incident occurred between July 26 and 30 at the 790 Crescent Road facility. Damage totaled $300.
In other Sheriff’s Office reports:
– Leslee Shane Kennemore, 35, 763 Bailey Farm Road, was charged Aug. 3 with domestic criminal trespassing based on a complaint by Deborah Kennemore, 130 Augusta Drive, Cleveland. He was held pending a bond hearing.
– Gerald Wayne Leach, 43, 3270 Morgan Road, Gold Hill, was charged Aug. 5 with assault on a female based on a complaint by Cynthia Leach, 509 Cannon St., Rockwell. He was released on a written promise to appear in court Sept. 14.
– Lauren Elizabeth Sechler, 18, 445 Alan Circle, was charged Aug. 5 with harboring a fugitive. She was held under $1,000 secured bond pending an Aug. 29 trial date.
– Dustyn Arlen Surratt, 20, 2350 Hobson Road, Cleveland, was charged Aug. 6 with felony larceny of a motor vehicle. He was held under $2,300 secured bond pending a first appearance in court.
– Scott Cook of C & D Salvage, 645 Lentz Road, China Grove, reports a dealer tag had been stolen from the business between July 7 and 9.
– Crystal Michelle Crotts, 105 Cone Drive, Clarendia Anne Henderson, 109 Cone Drive, and Heather Hill Leonard, 2860 N.C. 801, Woodleaf, all reported someone had broken into and stolen items from their vehicles the night of Aug. 2. Total loss was $3,345.
– Donald Wilson McBride of Mocksville reported copper tubing valued at $350 had been stolen from under a house at 2420 Bear Poplar Road, Cleveland, between July 23 and Aug. 3.
– Alan Burchan, an employee of American Century Home Fabrics, reported someone entered a transformer substation at the business between July 30 and Aug. 3 and tried to cut a copper grounding cable. Damage totaled $100.
– Russell John Roth, 1110 Godbey Road, reported the theft of a backpack blower and four-wheeler from his backyard between Aug. 1 and 3.
– Tony Eugene Maner, 107 Deerfield Circle North, reported $550 worth of pool supplies had been removed from his storage building Aug. 2 or 3.
– Terry Joe Wallace II, 350 Log Barn Road, reported his wallet was stolen from his home Aug. 3.
– John Henry Nappier, 45, 120 Brown Lane, Lexington, S.C., was charged Aug. 3 with disorderly conduct and assault on a female at 9120 Bringle Ferry Road. He was held pending a bond hearing. Trial date is Aug. 23.
– Julia Marie Nappier, 40, 120 Brown Lane, Lexington, S.C., was charged Aug. 3 with possession of marijuana, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia at 9120 Bringle Ferry Road.
– Roberto Toledo, 55, 185 El Camino Drive, was charged Aug. 4 with assault on a female based on a complaint by Rebecca Toledo, same address. He was released on a written promise to appear in court Aug. 22.
– Arthur Price Miller, 112 Hollins Drive, reported a lawn mower and gas can stolen from his property Aug. 3 or 4.
– Xia Yong Huang of Charlotte reported a window in his vehicle was broken while it was parked in an open area at 905 Webb Road Aug. 4. Damage totaled $350.
– Tony Dean Hamilton of Blacksburg, S.C., reported jewelry and electronics valued at $1,190 had been stolen from a house he owns at 560 East Ridge Road between Aug. 1 and 4.
– Christopher Lewis Oakman, 21, 1790A Old Union Church Road, was charged Aug. 4 with felony maintaining a dwelling or vehicle for a controlled substance, felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a controlled substance and resisting, delaying and obstructing a public officer. He was held under $15,000 secured bond pending a first appearance in court.
– Jason Emmanuel Roebuck, 19, 1790 Old Union Church Road, was charged Aug. 4 with felony maintaining a dwelling or vehicle for a controlled substance, felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was held under $25,000 secured bond pending a first appearance in court.
– John Adrian Brown of Fort Mill, S.C., reported he had lost his billfold Aug. 2 and his credit card has since been used fraudulently.
– Ruben Mitchell Cowan, 13050 Statesville Blvd., Cleveland, was charged Aug. 4 with resisting, obstructing and delaying a public officer, driving while impaired, driving while license revoked and displaying a fictitious tag. He was held under $1,500 secured bond pending an Aug. 28 trial date.
– Kenneth Scott Bacon, 162 Dusty Oaks Trail, Kannapolis, reported the Aug. 4 theft of his scooter from his property.
– Duane Howard Woodie, 7480 Old Beatty Ford Road, reported two vehicles parked at his home were entered the night of Aug. 4 and DVD players stolen from them.
– Joe Wayne Moore, 7975 Old Beatty Ford Road, Rockwell, reported a $2,500 golf cart had been stolen from a trailer parked in his driveway the night of Aug. 4. Several others in the area also reported unlocked vehicles entered and items stolen from them.
– William Eugene Myers of Woodleaf reported several acts of vandalism to mailboxes and other items in the Falcon Crest Subdivision in the Godby Road the night of Aug. 4.
– Waymond Lane Strucklin Jr. of Hutstricklin Auto Parts, 530 Kesler Road, reported vandals caused $400 damage at his shop the night of Aug. 4.
– Krystal Lee Kocher, 302 Millbridge Circle, China Grove, reported items valued at $2,350 were stolen during a burglary at her home the night of Aug. 4.
– Marsha Jeane Roig, 180 Hard Rock Drive, Lot 7, Rockwell, reported someone set fire to mulch in a flower bed against her mobile home Aug. 5. Damage totaled $60.
– Susan Elaine Lowman, 1050 Askford Circle, reported someone broke into her home Aug. 5.
– Fred Sheets Jr. of Kannapolis reported his cell phone was stolen from his truck while it was parked at 2023 W. C St., Kannapolis, Aug. 5.
– Tammy Casper, 120 Casper Road, Gold Hill, reported Aug. 2 that items had been stolen from several vehicles parked at her home.
– Chris Drye of Drye’s Auto Crushing, 2575 Mount Hope Church Road, reported Aug. 2 that property from his business had been stolen during a burglary.
– Emma Leach, 3450 Morgan Road, Gold Hill, reported several vehicles parked at her residence were entered the night of Aug. 1.
– Christine Crowell, 15340 Stokes Ferry Road, Gold Hill, reported several vehicles parked at her home the night of Aug. 1 had been entered and a cell phone stolen from one of them.
– Connie Sells, 11310 Stokes Ferry Road, Gold Hill, reported several vehicles parked at her home the night of Aug. 1 had been entered and cash taken from one of them.
– Eli Morgan, 12045 Stokes Ferry Road, Gold Hill, reported Aug. 2 that medication had been stolen from her vehicle while it was parked at her home.
– Hailey Melissa Powles, 11630 Stokes Ferry Road, Gold Hill reported Aug. 2 that cash and medication had been stolen from several vehicles parked at her home.
– Beth Kenerly, 15080 Stokes Ferry Road, Gold Hill, reported Aug. 2 that several vehicles were entered while they were parked in her driveway, but nothing was missing.
– Barbra Gentle, 955 Stone Road, reported Aug. 2 that her mailbox had been damaged by a cement block.
– Julie Kirby, 14232 Stokes Ferry Road, Gold hill, reported Aug. 2 that someone had broken into an unlocked vehicle on her property.
– Kenneth Peeler, 10110 Stokes Ferry Road, Gold Hill, reported Aug. 2 that items had been removed from an unlocked vehicle parked at his home.
– John Henry Heyer Jr, 17645 Stokes Ferry Road, New London, reported Aug. 2 that a six-wheeled Gator vehicle had been stolen from his property.
– Juan Tavares of Charlotte reported Aug. 2 that his brother’s vehicle had been stolen from a friend’s house at 9295 Smith Road, Kannapolis.
– Patti Poole, Michael Poole and Travis Poole, all of 10033 Stokes Ferry Road, reported Aug. 2 that someone had broken into and stolen items from a vehicle parked at the home.
– Michael Fink, 2910 Agner Road, reported Aug. 2 that a computer had been stolen from a vehicle parked at his home.
– Thomas Reynolds, 3535 Old Union Church Road, was charged Aug. 2 with possession of Schedule IV controlled substance.
– Tammy Izze, 2850 Airport Road, reported Aug. 2 that someone had spray-painted graffiti sprayed on a business sign at her home.
– Christina Clark, 159 Cone Drive, Woodleaf, reported $200 damage after vandals broke a window in her car while it was parked at her home the night of Aug. 1.
– The cash register, CCTV system and cigarettes were stolen during a burglary at Ellis 1 Stop, 2040 E. Ridge Road, Aug. 2.
