Blockbuster taking up DVDs for troops
Blockbuster Inc. is hosting a nationwide DVD and game drive from July 1-14 to help bring some much deserved entertainment to American troops.
You can show your support by purchasing DVDs and games at the local Blockbuster and dropping them in a USO box on site.
The entertainment retailer will match donations made at its stores with up to 20,000 DVDs and work with the USO to distribute them to troops.
For security reasons, the USO can only accept DVDs and games (new or used) originating from participating Blockbusters.
Blockbuster is also committed to raising $100,000 for the USO during the drive. Customers are invited to purchase an American flag antenna ball or pencil topper for $1 to participate. All of the money collected will go to the USO to help entertain and support the morale of the troops.
The Salisbury Blockbuster is at 850 Jake Alexander Blvd. and the phone number is 704-630-9280.
