KANNAPOLIS ó Investigators with the Kannapolis Police Department and members of the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office arrested Bradford Howard Wyrick Sr. and charged him with attempted murder and weapons violations stemming from an incident on Jan. 29.Wyrick, of 1200-A Wyrick Ave., has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, discharging a weapon into occupied property and possession of a weapon of mass destruction.
Kannapolis Police went to 1002 Barnhardt Ave. on Jan. 29 after receiving a 911 call that someone had shot into the residence.
Officers discovered that multiple shots had been fired into the residence, which was occupied at the time. No injuries were reported.
During the investigation, officers received information linking Wyrick to the shooting. While searching a home in Kannapolis on Feb. 6, officers recovered a weapon which is believed to be the one used during the incident.
Further investigation showed the victim and suspects were acquaintances.
Wyrick was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $150,000 secured bond. Additional charges are pending.
