A 79-year-old Woodleaf man has been charged with taking indecent liberties with a child.
On Friday, Rowan Sheriff’s Deputy C. Mauldin charged Herman Odell Snider, 1285 Wetmore Road with the single felony count.
Snider was released on an unsecured bond of $5,000 because of his medical condition. According to the warrant, he “recently had a pacemaker implanted and is in very bad health.”According to information in the warrant, Deputy Mauldin said Snider attempted to commit lewd and lascivious acts on a girl who was under 16-years-old.
The incident happened between June 1 and June 30, 2002, according to the warrant.
He is scheduled to make his first appearance in Rowan District Court on Monday.
