Morganton tourney set
Morganton’s Summer Sizzler Sectional Tournament will be held at the Collett Street Recreation center. Eldon Claymon is tournament chair.

Myrnie and John McLaughlin were high overall in the sectional North American Pairs duplicate game last Tuesday evening at the Salisbury Woman’s Club.
Other winners were: Ellna Simpson-Elton and Loyd Hill, second; Steve Moore and Dick Brisbin, third; Gloria Bryant and Craig Poplin, fourth. This was the deal on Board 13 from Tuesday’s game:

The John McLaughlins played a two-hearts contract, making four, for the best N/S score .The Charles Rimers defeated their South opponent’s three no trumps contract one trick for the top E/W score.
In the Evergreen Club’s special club championship game held July 20, the Elton/Hill pair placed first N/S and high overall. Lucy Brown and Pete Date took first place E/W.Other winners were: N/S ó Linda and Dick Euler, second; Marie Pugh and Clyde Steele, third. E/W ó Carol Bachl and Judy Gealy, second; Myrnie McLaughlin and Steve Moore, third.
