Jane Osborne, a nurse at Rowan Regional Medical Centers Outpatient Surgery Center on Julian Road, is the 2007 recipient of the Tammy Bernhardt Nurse Excellence Award.
Osborne accepted the award May 10 during Nursess Week on May 10.
She has been a staff nurse at Rowan Regional since 2003 and has more than 25 years of experience in nursing. She has received several nursing honors, including an award from the Institute for Nursing Excellence in 1997 sponsored by the North Carolina Center for Nursing, and a Clinical Excellence Award in 1995 from High Point Regional Health System.
A 1982 graduate of Cabarrus Hospital School of Nursing, she worked at North Carolina Baptist Hospital, Medical Park Hospital and High Point Regional Health Care System before accepting a position at Rowan Regional. She holds certifications in Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Ambulatory PeriAnesthesia Nursing.

The Nursing Excellence Award, one of the highest honors given to a nurse at Rowan Regional, is named for the late Tammy Bernhardt, who was a nurse in the medical centers Coronary Care Unit and a past winner of the Nursing Excellence Award. She died of cancer in 1998.
