The Rowan-Salisbury School System’s Child Nutrition Services Department will once again offer a summer food service, thanks to funding from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
The same meals will be available at no separate charge to participants, and the school system follows a strict nondiscrimination policy.
The program will operate on weekdays from June 18 through Aug. 10, with only a break for July 4.
Breakfast will be staggered from 7:45 to 8:30 a.m. depending on the site, and lunch will be served from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. For exact serving times, call Jackie Shinn at Salisbury High, 704-639-3028.
Eligibility standards are the same as those used for free or discounted lunches during the school year. For specific income guidelines, call 704-630-6046.
Meals will be served at 32 sites, including YMCAs, Housing Authority and parks-and-recreation facilities, churches, schools and summer camps. For specific locations, call Shinn at 704-639-3028.
